AMANDA STEWART, FOUNDER & CEO
Amanda Stewart brings over 14 years of experience across all aspects of business, with heavy emphasis on Financial Management and Program Management. Beginning her career with Fluor Corporation in the Commercial sector as an Accountant, Ms. Stewart then diversified into the Defense sector supporting organizations such as General Dynamics Land Systems, Textron, and Sentar, primarily within the areas of Program Planning & Controls, Financial Management, Program Management & Business Development.
Ms. Stewart’s entry into the Defense sector has allowed her the opportunity to support such end customers as SPAWAR, Defense Health Agency, MARFORCYBER, MCCOG, as well as many industry partners. Amanda spent several recent years providing program management support to SPAWAR in project execution of Defense Health Agency Cyber Security Risk Management and Security Operations Support services at locations CONUS and OCONUS. Prior to that, Amanda spent many years cultivating both her Program and Financial Management skills while supporting up to 36 active programs annually in the development, production, maintenance and training of aircraft simulation devices, and also maintaining accountability for achieving annual revenue, NOP, and cash targets for her business unit. In 2017 Amanda took a leap of entrepreneurism to create an EDWOSB, Iron Horse Solutions LLC, which provides Supply Chain Management and Cyber Security support to clients. Amanda currently maintains responsibility for all aspects of the business as CEO, including leading the capture and business development of emerging opportunities for a variety of commercial and government clients.
Amanda Stewart is an active participant in the Charleston Defense community. She has been a member of both AFCEA and CDCA for approximately 4 years, currently serves as the 2nd Vice President for AFCEA Lowcountry Chapter, and is also currently serving her 2nd term on the Executive Board of Women in Defense (WID) Palmetto Chapter as Treasurer. Over the last 4 years, Amanda has held various positions for WID, including Membership Committee Lead, Website Development and Maintenance Lead, and Committee Lead for coordination and event management of WID’s annual Military Woman of the Year event. During her time on the WID Leadership Board, Amanda has helped the organization raise over $12,500 for the WID PC STEM Scholarship Program as well as $8,000 for the VA Fisher House project.
Outside of the Defense community, Amanda has served as an active volunteer for the non-profit organization Pet Helpers for 8 years, and has served as a volunteer on the event coordination committee for the Arthritis Foundation’s annual Jingle Bell 5K in Charleston for 6 years. Amanda also volunteers to support several local annual events, such as the annual cancer benefit Follypalooza, and she provides pro-bono website development services for non-profits and local children’s athletic teams.
Ms. Stewart holds a current PMP certification, a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Valdosta State University, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The Citadel.
IHS in the Community
Lowcountry STEM Activity – Iron Horse Solutions’ leadership works with other local organizations to help reach K-12 students, college students, and teachers with activities, programs, and scholarships that will enrich the recipient’s understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
VA Fisher House – Iron Horse Solutions’ leadership works with other local organizations to raise funds for the Fisher House in Charleston, SC, with the goal of eliminating room and board expenses for veteran families while they remain close to their loved-one receiving medical care in Charleston.
